The One Dollar Bill. And Duct Leakage.
Most of us touch a dollar bill every day. For sure we did 10 years ago. You may have never noticed the number 13 – the original number of American states – appears on the $1 bill. It’s one of the most frequent dollar bill symbols. There are 13 arrows, 13 olive branch leaves, 13 olive fruits, 13 stars above the eagle, 13 steps of the pyramid, and 13 bars on the shield.
And you, the HVAC engineer, work with duct systems nearly every day. You may not have any idea how much the ducts leak, or just how many of those dollar bills disappear through those leaks.
As well, you may not be familiar with what’s in the HVAC Air Duct Leakage Test Manual. And what’s NOT in the manual. Until a few months ago, I didn’t know either.
I’d like to share with you what I’ve learned about leaking air systems. Candidly, it’s a little shocking. But you’ll get the skinny and some ideas to make your systems more efficient.
The leakage story is best covered in person and with physical samples. For those of you engineers who are more familiar with webinars, we call this, ‘THE DOG AND PONY SHOW’. And there is a van full of samples for you to get your hands on.
This email serves as a notification that I, much like the eye on the top of the pyramid, am looking to see you. Soon.
REQUEST: If your facility has a place to park indoors (loading dock or parking garage), that will make the presentation less weather dependent. An indoor open space 35’ x 20’ will accommodate the van, deck, and up to 10 people.
Until I See you,
Tom
