Humidification Workshop
October 9 - 10 • 8:30 am - 11:30 am(Same program – two dates)
There’s a lot of ways a humidifier can go wrong, from design stage through installation and to maintenance. Neptronic has seen them all and will help you navigate through the fog.

Workshop Leader
Josiah Strauss worked in the Oil and Gas industry since 2013, performing exploration and environmental consulting in North American and Overseas regions. Prior to that, Josiah held two academic posts at Duke University and at the University of New South Wales in Australia where he worked on various projects related to environmental changes and their impacts.
Josiah also holds a PhD in Earth and Environmental Sciences from Texas A&M University, and a BSC and MSC in Geology from Florida Atlantic University.
Josiah brings to Neptronic an understanding of the climate interactions within the built environment and due to his background in hydrology, an understanding of the impacts of water quality on humidification. Since he started working at Neptronic, Josiah has expanded our water treatment offerings, fielded all the water treatment questions and given several webinars/talks on the subject to representatives and industry members.

Agenda
8:00 – 8:30: Breakfast / Check-In
8:30 – 8:45 Introduction to Neptronic
8:45 – 9:45 Introduction to humidification: Why do we humidify? What are typical humidification applications? What is absorption distance? Which type of humidifier should I specify? These questions and others will be answered during this session. We will also work through an isothermal and adiabatic system selection.
9:45 – 10:00 Break
10:00 – 11:00 Water Quality and Humidification: Water quality is an integral, but often overlooked aspect of a humidification project. Here we will cover water quality parameters (hardness, pH, TDS) and how they can affect different humidification technologies. We will then move onto benefits and drawbacks of different water treatment technologies for humidification.
11:00 – 11:30 Design and installation pitfalls: After a have designed a project, what problems can you unfold after the installation? In this talk, common operational and installation problems will be covered and unique stories from in the field will be shared.
11:30 – 11:45 Q&A
11:45: Lunch
