Who doesn’t love a good conspiracy theory? Hear me out.
Think about all the companies that you ever purchased or specified grilles and diffusers from.
And think about where they came from.
Titus? That’s Texas.
Krueger? Funny, Texas again.
Nailor? Guess What? Texas.
Metal*Aire? Florida.
Anemostat? That’s California.
If you ask me, these companies never really gave a rip about heating because they never had to worry about it. Very little heating is required in Texas, Florida, and California.
There is an outlier. That’s good ol’ Price Industries from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Even so, Price was a fabricating licensee of Titus, so all their original designs were Titus until the 1980s.
Uhh, Tom, can you get to the point?
These companies are naturally cooling focused. Wisconsinites and Yoopers, we need to think a little harder as we design our heating systems.
Good news, we’re going to cover it in class!
See you in class, foil hats optional
Disclaimer: Yes, there’s Carnes (Madison), and Tuttle and Bailey (NYC), but never were market leaders.
