You don’t know what to say at funerals?
When a close family member of one of our team members dies, I usually go to the funeral.
I encourage others from the company to go too. Some do, but most don’t.
The pat answer for not going is “I don’t know what to say.”
Outside of Will Ferrell from Wedding Crashers, let’s agree that no one likes funerals.
So what could you say?
Imagine. You’re in the receiving line. You meet and greet four relatives you don’t know. You get to your friend. Maybe you give them a hug, or maybe you’re not a hugger.
Now try this.
“I just wanted to be with you.”
Until next time,
